This past year has seen a revived enthusiasm in the blockchain industry, causing an abundance of excitement and intrigue in the sector. This has led to a number of forums, filled with blockchain enthusiasts, organizing meetup events around the world. During this exciting time we have participated and got involved with as many of these events as has been possible. It was at these events we became inspired by the passion and enthusiasm of like-minded individuals to get involved and help shape the future of this industry.

Therefore, as a leading crypto mining company, we decided to launch our own series of global events in major cities across the world. With the aim of bringing people together who are passionate about blockchain and mining, to help accelerate the industry's development and bridge much-needed gaps in communication and understanding.

What events inspired us?

Bitcoin Conference 2019

The infamous Bitcoin conference returned on June 25th after several years of not running. However, the venue this time was moved from Amsterdam (2014) to San Francisco.

This was a large, not to miss calendar event, boasting more than 70 of the industry's top companies including mining pools, exchange platforms and mining machine companies. Over 100 leaders in the industry took part and shared their views about the industry whilst more than 1900 attendees gained invaluable knowledge and networked with others.

For the first time, F2Pool, as a gold sponsor, participated in the event. At our exhibition there were many people from all over the world who were keen to find out about us. This was an exciting chance to showcase our products and we were even there to witness the moment that BTC's price increased sharply, surpassing that of 12000 USD.

F2Pool's co-founder Wang Chun participated in the discussion about "The Genesis of Asis's Mining Pools & Their Vital Role in the Bitcoin Ecosystem" on the first day of the event.

On the 2nd day of the event, the former employee of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Edward Snowden, video connected to the venue, exciting everyone.

This was the first time Snowden has appeared in public view after the arrest of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. In an interview with David Bailey, Snowden expressed his views on Bitcoin, emphasizing the importance of privacy.

F2Pool Meetup in Shenzhen

On the 12th of July, F2Pool celebrated the opening ceremony of the Shenzhen office. All F2Pool founders joined this ceremony and cut the opening ribbon before participating at our meetup event. This was the first time that F2Pool has organized a meetup event. There were more than 100 companies from the industry, along with media and miners. Together they not only helped us celebrate the establishment of our new office but contributed massively in making our first event a huge success. We would like to thank those dearly who attended the event, for all your support and good wishes.

Miami Mining Disrupt

The Mining Disrupt Conference was held in Miami on 24th July.

This is a yearly conference and expo event that gathers a wide range of industry professionals from Wall Street wolves to ASIC manufacturers. Everyone comes here together to learn from one another, all while discovering new blockchain startups and innovators that could revolutionize and disrupt the industry as early as 2020. It was a privilege to participate and collaborate with more than 1000 experts, influences and strategists.

F2Pool Global Meetups

Nevertheless, based on these incredibly insightful events we have participated in over the past few months and coupled with this new revived enthusiasm, we have decided to launch our own Global Meetup series.

This series of global events will kick off in Moscow on the 24th of August, where our co-hosts Whatsminer, Nervos and partner Beam will be there to discuss the industry's latest machines, blockchains and technology. These are some of the most exciting projects in the crypto sphere today! Click here to register now.

Who is Whatsminer?

Whatsminer is the standout ASIC manufacturer of 2019, renowned for using industry leading technology and having an unwavering commitment to producing high quality products. Their machines have shorter payback periods and smaller electricity costs, which are just some of the many benefits they offer miners. This year they also launched an extremely impressive new-gen M20S and M21S product range.

Who is Nervos?

Nervos is a multi-asset, proof-of-work blockchain. Founded by a team of experienced crypto and blockchain experts who have worked on a number of open source software projects including Peatio Exchange, Spark Pool and imToken. One of the core design principles at Nervos involves utilizing layer 2 solutions such as side-chains, plasma chains and state channels to bring nearly unlimited transaction capabilities and minimal transaction costs to a layer 1 blockchain that's designed to be secure, permissionless and decentralized. In their opinion, this is the best way to solve the scalability trilemma.

Where next?

Following Moscow, we will go to Chengdu, China, to conduct in-depth discussions and exchanges with more friends who love mining. By sharing information and discussing the latest industry trends, fellow miners are better able to find more quality mining projects, minimizing the risks that may be encountered in the future and gaining more revenue.
