It's been an exciting month for our team in October. New coins launched, new features supported and involvement in a number of mining events.

Product updates

  • ELA and NMC merged mining for BTC launched, along with VCASH these mining rewards will be paid out to all users who set up a payout address. Learn more: Merged Mining Guide.
  • Google 2FA has replaced SMS 2FA, for setting up payout addresses and logging in to the dashboard. Google 2FA is a more secure and convenient authentication method. Learn more: 2-Step Verification Guide.
  • Account Settings pages have been revamped, to make account management smoother, especially for those with multiple mining accounts. Learn more: Account Settings Guide.
  • Hashrate Transfer function has launched for private testing. Miners will be able to transfer hashrate between F2Pool accounts. It will be available for all F2Pool miners in the near future. If you would like to try it now or have any ideas or feedback, please reach out to our team!

Pool updates

  • BFC mining pool launched, with the new CPoW mortgage concept, offering rewards of up to 3x of ETH mining. Learn more: BFC Mining Guide.
  • Ravencoin (RVN) fork has been performed successfully on October 1st. The Aeternity (AE) fork also has been performed successfully on October 30th. Miners can continue mining - no changes in the mining software are required!
  • XZC mining pool fees have been reduced from 5% PPS to 3% PPS as of October 24th.
  • ETC mining pool is temporarily closed due to network issues that began on October 10th. We are monitoring the situation and will resume support for the pool once the network is stable.

Marketing updates

  • World Digital Mining Summit 2019 was held in Frankfurt, Germany from October 8-10th with over 1000 attendees. F2Pool had a booth, and our Global Business Director, Thomas Heller, participated in the panel and video interview to discuss the impact of the upcoming block halving.
  • Devcon 5 was held in Osaka, Japan from October 8-11th to discuss the progress and future of Ethereum. F2Pool had a booth, and we had fruitful discussions with many developers, researchers, and miners.
  • Hummer Miner Launch Conference was held in Chengdu, China on October 27th. Hummer is a new mining hardware manufacturer and announced their new model: Hunter Miner H7, which comes in two varieties, 48 TH/s and 53 TH/s. The power efficiency is 65 W/T. Learn more: Hummer Miner Website.
  • World Crypto Conference 2019 was held in Las Vegas on October 29-31st. A large number of international mining companies met, presented and discussed the latest trends in the mining industry.
