What is Hyperspace and Space Cash (XSC)?
Earlier in October, f2pool was the first to launch a mining pool for SiaClassic (SCC) — a Siacoin fork. Today we are going to talk about another Siacoin fork, Hyperspace. Space Cash is the fuel that powers the Hyperspace Cloud Storage network. Learn more about Hyperspace from the official website.
Now, it’s time to learn how to mine XSC.
The underlying algorithm of XSC is the same algorithm as SCC — Blake2b. You can mine XSC with an A3, S11, Obelisk SC1 and other mining devices. Let’s use the Antminer A3 as an example, and the mining tutorial can be found below:
Part 1 — Preparation
- Hardware requirements: Blake2b algorithm ASIC miner, suitable power supply for the mining machine, a network cable and a computer.
- Download the IPReporter software
- Prepare an XSC wallet address:
- Full node wallet (setup guide here!)
- Exchanges: C-PatEx, BiteBTC
Please note: regulatory policies related to cryptocurrency mining differ in each country, and each miner is responsible to understand the associated risks.
Part 2 — Assemble the mining device
Assembling the mining device includes two key components:
- Connect and plug the network cable into the network cable interface of the mining machine.
- Connect the power cord and each interface of the mining power to the mining machine. After all wires are connected, the power can be turned on. Once the power is turned on, the mining machine light should light up and the machine starts to run.
Part 3 — Find the local IP
Under the same network used for the Antminer A3, open another computer prepared in advance. This _Control Computer_ will be used as a controller for mining setup.
On the _Control Computer_, visit the Antminer A3 website to download the IP software (IPReporter), unzip the file and double-click the IPReporter in the folder. Please note that the IP software for each mining machine is different. Visit the mining manufacturer’s official website for relevant resources.
![Use the IPReporter tool](img/1__yzaIhk__lwIHcCIMQL5cH__w.png) Use the IPReporter tool
Click “Start”, then press the mining’s IPReporter button, then press again and release for one second, as shown below:

At this point, the software will automatically display the IP address of the Antminer A3, and then copy the IP address to the browser.

Open the browser, paste the IP of the miner into the browser address bar, and press Enter. In the pop-up dialog box, enter the user name and password, which are both “root”.
Part 4 — Set up the Antminer A3 and start mining
From the mining management interface, enter the mining and miner information into Miner Configuration/General Settings. Pool 1 information should be filled as per below:
- URL:
stratum+tcp://xsc.f2pool.com:7798
- Worker / User:
wallet_address.worker_name
(wallet_address is your XCS wallet address, and worker_name is the miner name) - Password:
<can be set>
Please note that the miner name can be customized (letters or numbers) and the mining machine name should be relevant to the miner name. For example: 323b7baae0bf16ec8f505a3c344ae82eed1950119ff22753218446ad29ac38bbfaabe343f173.01. The wallet address and the miner’s name are separated by a period “.” or an underscore “\_”.
After entering the name, click “Save & Apply” in the lower right corner. Wait for a moment and the mining machine will start to run. Click on “Miner Status” to see the real-time status of the mining machine. After observing the normal indicators, you can start to receive the coins.
Part 5 — Monitor the mining machine status and the mining revenue
To view the operational status and daily income of the mining machine, you can access the f2pool official website, click on the search bar in the upper right corner, and enter the wallet address to check.
You can also view details through the Hyperspace block explorer.
Happy Mining 🐟
