About Litecoin

Litecoin is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency and open-source software project released under the MIT/X11 license. It was forked from Bitcoin in October, 2011. LTC mining uses the Scrypt mining algorithm and has 84 million total mineable coins.

Mining guide

Get suitable hardware

View our miners page to discover the most profitable ASIC machines for LTC.

Configure the miner

Your miner must be connected to one of the F2Pool servers, you must use a mining account registered on F2Pool and a wallet address that can receive LTC for your hashrate and revenue to be recorded and monitored.

Enter the following information on your mining device:

  • URL: stratum+tcp://ltc.f2pool.com:8888
  • Username: username.workerName
  • Password: anything

Note: workerName is optional, however we recommend connecting each mining device with a separate workerName for efficient monitoring.

Server list:

  • 🇪🇺 EU — stratum+tcp://ltc-eu.f2pool.com:8888
  • 🇺🇸 NA — stratum+tcp://ltc-us.f2pool.com:8888
  • 🇨🇳 CN — stratum+tcp://ltc.f2pool.com:8888

Ports 5200 and 3335 can be used as alternative ports for each server.

Add a payout address

A payout address is required to receive your mining revenue. You can add/change your payout address from Payout Settings.

Mining revenue is distributed daily to every user that reaches the payout threshold. Details about payout method, fees and threshold can be found here.

If you do not have an address yet, you need to get a wallet first. We recommend Cobo Wallet and Bixin Wallet. You can find an extensive list of wallet options on bitcoin.org. Alternatively you can choose a custodial wallet (exchange) such as Binance or OKEx.
